Yes, and in effect the Leamington Spas Building Society also in 1991 
whose customers were effectively 'saved' when it was arranged for the 
society's engagements to be transferred to Bradford & Bingley B/Soc.

And there was Town & Country Buildings society around the same time (I 
cant remember the year) whose engagements were assumed by the Woolwich 
which was the a B/Soc too.

I think B&B is one to keep an eye on in view of its subsidiary Mortgage 
Express.
