By making passengers pay for refreshments
By reducing the amount of toilets because of above
One aircraft type which is modern, efficient
By charging higher prices than is claimed, esp. at short notice
By cutting out travel agents out along with their commission
By focussing on short-haul pond-hoppers
By using different airports which are lower cost (economic benefits of
travel mean that the local govt airports want to attract them to
places which otherwise nobody might go).
By flying full on cheap fiars, rather than empty with expensive fairs
