I can't say that I have ever seen anything published anywhere that says
people who do not pay tax are entitled to interest gross so HMRC do keep
quiet about it. The acid test is how much tax is HMRC actually collecting
when they are not entitled to. So you think that pensioners are not being
ripped off if they don't claim it back because they don't realise that they
can.
