You are correct Carole, both theories are false, but for that matter all 
present alleged Geology theories are false as well.
Why is it so ?
I feel without going into lenghty discourse the zest of the understanding 
lies in a short novel by HG Wells called " THE VALLEY OF THE BLIND "
If you have read ( and if not I engage you to do so) you will immediately 
understand the easy extrapolation to present world wide situation.

Just as physical impairement lead to completely wrong appraisal of our 
environment,  the most pretentious attitude of those who have gone through 
the Universities & have degrees to boost IS that only what they believe they 
know is of any value. Considering of course that they have at hand the best 
tools of perception, and best mind to interpret what they receive as input.
My contention is that Man is very intellectually shallow at large especially 
when he has been submitted to the Universities dogmas, and further still 
very soon completely calcified, stratified, solidified in his beliefs which 
in clear means that afer say the 3rd puberty ( about 16 ) whatever is done , 
he will never bulge from what has been taught to him in early years.

This is why Geology is such a completely crazy science, and althoug the 
plain run-of-the-mill Rock Surveyors are doing some of them an acceptable 
job, their interpretation of Events and especially their sequences & the 
causes behind the causes is completely beyond their scopes ! So it is in 
Medecine, Economy, Agriculture and in all fields indeed ... and this is why 
then that planet is plainly heading to  disaster !

The democratic system hailed by so many as the remedy to wrong leadership, 
in fact has brougth to the top the expression of MEDIOCRITY. This world has 
no leader except those which correspond the most common denominator,  and 
which further compose with the occult power manipulation under the stage. 
Everything going havoc indeed as you can observe,  and unless some 
providential sway of say Divine Nature or say ET nature does not take 
control to check all the leading narrow minded hierarchy to the bin,  there 
will be no possibility of Universal Minds & Superior Beings coming to top. 
Indeed as much as Nature Laws can be cheated with for some times because of 
say some buffer effect of our global system, once the processus of inbalance 
is set,  in my opinion it might go a long way before things are harmonious 
again .
