I am old enough (72) to e experiencing this phenomenon, but it isn't as
simple as forgetting _all_ the recent stuff, it is selective to some
extent, in that I can remember the things I'm interested in.
So as the memory cells disappear I don't waste time remembering the
names of soap actors and stuff which some folk find easy, I remember the
survival stuff.
The key to using a PIN is to use it regularly, at first in the company
of someone who she can trust.
