Relax, termites swarm Every year. The swarm is the first sign of
activity many homeowners experience. Having a swarm come inside does
not always mean they are or have been eating your home. You may have a
termite colony under your house happily eating away at cellulose
debris that nature provided them. They may have no interest in your
home at all. The swarmer's leave the colony every spring to find a
mate and begin a new nest. (they wont nest inside)
When the swarmers leave the colony they venture upwards and if they
hit your slab they will go along that slab until they find a way out.
It just may be that your door jam area is there first means of
escape. If you haven't had a termite inspection lately call someone to
come look at it. BUT do not jump at the first bid. If they can not
find damage or active workers then it is better to wait. Termite swarm
season is like Christmas to retailers, this is there time to cash in.
Termites will not do any serious damage if you wait til fall to get
bids. In the fall Termite companies are slow and will give you a
better bid then if they catch you in a panic.Do Not be pressured into
acting right away. If the Termite company uses scare tactics on you
then that is the company to avoid. Do your own research on termites to
avoid being a victim to scare tactics.

Check your door jam area for moisture damage,do your own inspection
look for any signs of moisture. Including a leaky water
outlet, sprinklers hitting the house, downspouts clogged etc. Termites
need vaste amounts of ,moisture to survive they will seek out moisture
damaged wood and move the colony to areas that remain moist. Many
times solving the moisture problem will cause them to move away from
area.

Just do not panic,do your own research and inspect your home yourself.
Then you will be able to relate more when you call in the companies to
do an inspection and bid.
