It doesn't have to be "legal terminology", what words mean in a
contract is the type of matter that lawyers deal with. But what I was
thinking of, was that the local lawyer would be in a better position
to advocate, posture, bluff and threaten the condo assoc to get OP's
way regarding ambiguous terminology.
Showing the condo assoc posts from usenet won't do any good, having a
lawyer's letter sent to the condo's lawyer has some chance as compared
to the zero chance from usenet.
