This is Turtle.

You could be having a transmission oil leak and it will or can get into the 
washing machine wash area. If your letting water into the transmission oil then 
the oil will rise up into the wash area. the oil will only rise up when there is 
water above it coming down into the transmission oil area.

Just a 2 cent shot at it.
