Promoters of special economic zones in the country have had enough
issues to tackle before their projects are off the drawing board. Now
there is one more challenge they need to overcome -- the reluctance of
institutional lenders to fund acquisition of land for such projects.
While banks do sense a good business opportunity in funding special
economic zones, they have decided against funding the acquisition of
land for such projects. Most banks have taken the view that they would
fund only projects that come up within SEZs, such as hotels, captive
power plants, roads and schools. For more detail visit - http://www.magicbricks.com
