I am considering the very same project and would love to hear some feedback
as well.

I was thinking of doing something a little more permanent though.  For the
top/roof I was thinking of those wavy preformed fiberglass panels or a piece
of plywood with roofing paper.  I would have to pitch the roof for water
drainage.  And then I'm stuck on how to mate the roof to the sides.  For the
base I think I need some treated 2X2's with a plywood sheet as a floor..
The sides could just be plywood with a black outdoor rated paint.  The whole
thing would be hidden within the lattace.
