Everyone I know who has bought a house near a freeway has regretted it.
This includes people who bought houses on hilltops with views of the
ocean (i.e. very expensive property). Then again, without the freeway
nearby the property would be valued all the more and perhaps unaffordable.
If you can afford to not move near the highway then I would. I live
miles from a freeway and most nights I can still hear the traffic. I can
only imagine what 200 yards is like.
