So was the house newly BUILT??? It is if it was BUILT not BOUGHT is
what counts as far as changes for physical inventory are concerned.
In many (most AFAIK) areas tax value is only set once a year. As of
whatever day that is (January 1st in my area), they are supposed to
update the value.
OTOH what Dim is talking about is a change in tax caused by a change
in ownership - which only occurs in places like CA where the law can
result in a property being taxed at below market value for the
previous owner, but at market value for the new one. That is
different from land vs. land & building (tax change caused by physical
change).
