I'm a first time home buyer and had a question for you -
The house I am about to buy is one of the least expensive houses in an
overall expensive neighborhood (if you simply consider the sticker
price). However this house has lesser square footage than most homes
there.
A similar house (same plan, same size) was sold for the same price but
I can't help but notice that this house costs $204 which is almost $20
per sq ft more than other homes there (As per zillow.com).
Most homes in that neighborhood are more expensive homes with more
area, but almost all their $/sqft are less than $190/sq ft ... often
going as low as $170/sqft! I seem to be correlating that larger homes
cost less per sqft than smaller homes in that same neighborhood.
To summarize, Even in the same block, the house I am considering is
* The cheapest considering sticker price
* The most expensive considering $/sqft
Do you know why that could be the case?
Thanks in advance
