Lena, yes I received this email and a buncha replies to it 
today. IIRC it had no link; just a direction to go log in 
and check that one's info was current. So it might be a 
legitimate suggestion. OTOH, having the email set up so that 
customers' automatic email answering services fire back an 
email to the whole email list is IMO a tip-off of either (1) 
the illegitimacy of the first email or (2) that our friends 
running the Treasury Direct web operations are still getting 
up to speed on efficient management of the site. I will 
happily be cashing in my remaining savings bonds with TD in 
2007.
