It's hard to know all the details from your post, but my policy is never to
pay the final payment on any work I have done until I have an opportunity to
check it out personally. I would guess that it would be a lot easier to get
them to take care of things before they get their $4800 then afterwards.
I haven't always had the above "policy," but after being burned by companies
that I thought would do great work, but didn't, I learned.
