I'm one of those old farts who believes that housing decisions
should be based more on lifestyle considerations than investment
objectives. Still, that said, one doesn't want to throw money
down a hole. I've owned two condos and can thus testify with
experience that you are very lucky if you can simply get your
money back out of them. (I did in one case, the other was a
significant loss.) Still, I'm not shedding any big tears because
the condo decisions fit my lifestyle at the time.
