Maybe you need to review the meaning of rescind.

They already did that.

Why should Egg do that?  They are providing a service to the cardholder
under their terms and conditions and they have no duty to do it for free
(in cases which fall outside section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974)
when a third party lets the cardholder down.
