After posting my response I started to wonder if I had spoken to soon.
There seems to be lots of converstation on various web sites about
generators damaging new style appliances like refrigerators and TV's.
Personally I couldn't care less about my TV etc. during an emergency, a
radio will do just fine thank you very much. Apparently the damage is
caused by lack of constant voltage control and variations from the normal 60
Hertz we get from our regular municipal power suppliers
I would like someone out in there cyberspace to tell me if brand name
portable welders like Lincoln and Miller are safe to use with the new
generation of essential appliances like fridges and other devises that might
be needed during an extended emergency situation? If not what other
options are available?
