Good stuff, Brent. Since you mention pension plans I'll insert a question
here that has cropped up in my personal planning. My husband's PERS pension
refers to the age of the member and the age of the member's spouse in
determining J&S benefits. In no place does it appear to differentiate
between male and female members in the published annuity tables (examples
only, admittedly). Why does it seemingly disregard the gender issue, as I'm
sure this must affect the actuarial payouts?
