Well, that is your opinion. I don't believe in knocking brands to that 
degree. They are always doing it to Goodman-GMC-Janitrol. Years ago the 
main problem was that the condenser cabinets would fade and sometimes 
rust. Installed properly they held up as well as the other brands.

Amana was bought by Goodman Manufacturing Company (GMC) .

It is my opinion that your condemnation of Amana products is biased for 
whatever reason. I never handled that brand however in my years of 
service work I never found their air conditioning equipment to be inferior.

I don't like aluminum coils either, they should be warranted for the 
life of the equipment, including labor. Far more than anything else, the 
quality of the entire system installation, ductwork, proper air flow, 
etc., determines the performance and the life of the equipment.

Equipment will hold up only when it is properly installed and maintained!
